beautiful melbourne

Words are beautiful and I love them, but pictures can tell a million stories… so here are some pictures from days gone past…

Over in Greater Dandenong, we have a carnival every year called the Dandenong Show.
It’s our annual community gig. It’s lots of fun! esp. with a big family like mine.

Last Sunday, the Cambodian Association of Victoria Youth Group had their annual BBQ.

I tried to catch some fish although unsuccessfully. I also frightened some people and tourist with my rod handling! :)

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to be at a wonderful event – the Clayton Multicultural Banquet. There were over 600 people! & the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship graced us with his appearance. As I was filming the event, did not have many opportunities for photos, however the sound assistant took this lovely one of me before the event started.

Last but not least, (although it’s not a photo) your invitation to the launch of the multilingual anthology! there’s a surprise performance :)

the beauty of cameras and tripods.

You may have recall reading about my st kilda botanical gardens adventure earlier, if not… here’s a refreshment. I visit the st kilda botanical gardens often, mostly for gigs at the stkmusicpoetry class act, & I found it absolutely wonderful. It inspired me to make this music video – I thought that since I’ve spent a quarter of my life learning the technicalities of filming and editing that I could put a video together myself (saves lots of money, & waiting around for a film crew) So here’s my first try. It’s all done using a tripod. There were lots of onlookers! & people asking questions – I mean, it’s not everyday you see someone singing and dancing in a park wearing a big white frock :) Enjoy! Please leave a comment on what you think.

Another fantastic event coming up soon is the launch of the “Hidden Treasure: Multicultural voices of Melbourne” anthology.

You can find out more info on this link, and also RSVP for the event. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=31462248819&ref=nf
