I know that the area has been torn down and there is nothing of the refugee camp left but, I am going to be on a trip to Cambodia this coming January and would love to see the area in which KID was located. Ratha, I was wondering if you have contact with some of the Dr's who worked at the camp as there was a specific Filipino and British doctor that treated my mother like a daughter. I would love to get in contact with any of the Doctors that were in Kow I Dang so I could somehow find these Doctors and reunite them with my mother. Although there were bitter memories, we too had wonderful memories about that camp. I was in KID from 1984-1988 and left just before the camp was officially closed in 1988. I have collected extensive pictures of the camp - 450-500 pictures. I worked as a Physiciant Assistant at Doctors with Borders Hospital, ICRC, and UN Warehouse (as secretary and translator). Presently, in America, I am medical primary care provider who is working both in medical clinic and Emergency Room at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, MA. I am too in the process of building a new website: The Legacy of Cambodian Refugees. The information will include my pictures, my diary from Cambodia to KID Camp and America, and my researches about Cambodian refugees in Thailad. Hope I can share with you and everyone.
